* Please note: at the August 27 City Council meeting, the council voted to narrow the election systems to the following: Option 2, Hybrid 8-3 System, and Option 3, At-Large Ranked Choice Voting. These are the two systems that will appear on the nonbinding ballot in November.

The City of Lowell is beginning a process through which it will be selecting and implementing a new system for the election of candidates to the City Council and the School Committee.

This website is intended to provide information to the public about how this process will play out over the next several months.  It is also intended to provide information about the potential new election systems that are under consideration.
